Cheaters Chai Tea Latte

I have been MISSING my Starbucks Chai Tea Lattes lately. I would normally grab one on my way home from Harper’s Gymnastics class wash week but when I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes that put a huge wrench in my weekly treat. THEN the pandemic hit and I haven’t been going anywhere lately.

So necessity kicked in last week when I really just needed a little afternoon treat to make me smile. So I hopped on good ole Pinterest and found a few cheat recipes. I tweaked it to make it perfect and thought I would share if anyone else is desperate for a pick-me-up-latte.

If we’re friends on Instagram (@emma.prentiss) you probably already saw this but here is a breakdown of exactly what I did.

Hot Chai Latte

Fill your mug half way with milk of your choice (just to get the measurements right) and then pour it into a small saucepan and warm it. Once warm, pour it into your frother and get to pumpin.

Fill that same mug with Chai Tea mix about half way (more if you like a strong chai taste). Once your milk is frothed to your liking, pour it into the mug and voila.

Nice and easy, tastes SO good and you can easily make it into an iced chai latte by skipping the warming and frothing. Top it with some cinnamon if you’re feeling froggy and enjoy!

Are you like me and just realizing you’re paying $5 for someone to pour milk and chai tea mix into a cup for you? LOL Funny thing is that I will still go there on occasion. #basic

What YOUR Starbucks order? Obvi, I need to find something new to drink that’s worth the money. LOL
