Cinnamon Chocolate Granola!

Bucket List item number one. CHECK!

Homemade Granola! I don’t even know why I wanted to make this so badly. Basically I saw a pin on Pinterest and it caught my eye (I’m a sucker for food photos). But it was worth every piece of oats that I had to sweep up when we were done.

Literally the easiest recipe ever. I found it here. We made a few alterations to suit what we had on hand. We omitted nuts and added chocolate. At the wrong point in the recipe, I might add, so they melted. But whatever.

But you can’t mess this up. It’s a few easy steps, try not to drop an entire container of oats in the sink though, that’ll make the process that much messier. ::insert eye roll here:: Aprons are totally optional but toddlers in aprons are just so dang cute.

This could actually be a little homemade gift to make for friends + family now that I think about it! Holiday season is coming! Don’t get mad at me! Just thinking ahead. A little hostess gift on Thanksgiving or a thought-of-you gift for a neighbor.

Make a few trays with different add-ins, stuff it into a mason jar, add some ribbon and a sprig of holly (we have some growing in our backyard!). BAM, a thoughtful and practical little gift! You could easily get 2 mason jars worth with the recipe I linked above.

The final product was delicious, with ingredients I can feel good about (even the chocolate)! We immediately made smoothie bowls for lunch so we could dive in + I have to say- normally we put Nutella on our smoothie bowls but didn’t miss it one bit thanks to the chocolate granola!

So good, so easy, and a fun little autumn thing to try with your kiddos.

xx, Emma
