Momma Took Kit

I vividly remember being a new mom and leaving the hospital with Harper in her little car seat carrier- I looked straight at the nurse with this look of…

“That’s it?! No one is going to come home with me?! it’s all on us now?!”

I’m sure she could sense my terror and gave me a squeeze on the arm and said “You’re going to do great, Mom.” And off we went. Those first few weeks were WILD. There, shockingly, is no handbook that comes home with you and everyone has a different suggestion or piece of advice for how to handle things. Total madness.

I remember thinking, when I make it through this, I am going to be a freaking LIGHT of hope for other moms to be sure they know that there are options that they can reach for in these times of OMG WHAT DO I DO NOW?! SO, here we are. This is my beacon of light to you, momma. Take what suites you and you can leave the rest. <3

Tummy Troubles-

  • TummyGize Roller– prediluted for kids 2+, roll around the belly button as often as needed!
  • Digize– same as above but you can make your own roller if you’re into that kinda thing.
  • Gripewater– Newborn/baby MUST HAVE.
  • Liquid IV– hydration station! We like anything berry flavored!

Ear Aches + Teeth-

  • Purification– roll behind and in front of ears for nearly instant relief from the ache! We dilute a little to use on the kids!
  • Copiaba– the most gentle essential oil ever created. Tastes so mild and gives instant relief to sore gums from teething.
  • Camilia– this comes HIGHLY recommended from friends but we have had great success with Copiaba so just passing this along for those needing options.

Sniffles-

  • SniffleEase– prediluted for kids 2+ and a winter MUST.
  • Saline Spray– not the most fun but seriously helpful at night when a kid has a clogged up nose.
  • Humidifier– The exact one we have isn’t available but this look s so similar. It’s the easiest to clean and that is SO important because they’re the biggest pain in the ass neck.
  • Diffuser– we have the Feather the Owl diffuser because its a humidifier, yes we still double up, diffuser + sound machine in one. I think Snowy is the cutest + super neutral to go with any decor.
  • Thieves Chest Rub– ditch that blue goo and grab this OTC decongestant! Smells heavenly!

Ouchies-

  • Owie Oil– prediluted for kids 2+, roll it right on an ouch + bandaid that baby up. Good as new.
  • Cute Bandaides– because the right bandaid can make all the difference + these actually stay on.

No Yuck-

  • SleepyIze– prediluted for kids 2+. Sleep is SO important in keeping kids well, roll a little on their feet before bedtime and witness the power of a good nights sleep!
  • Thieves Roller– roll it right on the spine AM + PM to help keep the immune system in tip top shape. Good for the whole family! We grab a bottle of Thieves + make rollers but the premade is good if you’re not into DIY.
  • Super C Chewable– Easiest + tastiest way to get your vitamin c!
  • Unwind– Magnesium supplement for kids that tastes like a pixie stick! Helps wind down their active little minds to get a good nights sleep!
  • Mary Ruths- We’ve big fans of their liquid vitamins (probiotic + Vitamin D3, especially!).
  • Elderberry Gummies– much more fun to take as a gummy!
Forever one of my favorite photos of these two.

So these are just the things we keep on hand- I love having options that hold us over until we can get a Drs appointment if needed, as crunchy as I can be- we believe that a good balance is so important! None of these things are meant to treat, cure or prevent illness- clearly I’m no Doctor. Just a mom with a helping hand for you if you need it. Truly there is no better time than now to grab these to have on hand when the yuck comes knocking!

Thanks for reading. Xo, Emma

I included links for as much as I could but some you can easily find with a quick amazon search! Don’t forget that all of my links are commissionable, which means I make a small commission if you buy but it doesn’t change the price for you. Thank you for supporting the brands that support our family <3.

P.S. Are we real friends yet? Let’s make that a thing. I hang out over at @emma.prentiss more than I’d like to admit.
