One month of Audrey James

Audreys first month of life has been so sweet but also hard. Besides the fact that newborn days are just hard- this is a weird time to have a newborn! Also! Is there ever a point where you stop second guessing your mom-gut? No? I didn’t think so.

I’ve definitely seen how this go-round has been easier but it has had its moments where I mutter WTF under my breath. The occasional moments of ease come from my ability to be more chill this time. I’m less uptight, anxious, and worried. So all in all I’m having an easier time all around. Thank goodness!

But enough about me. Let’s talk about Audrey!

Age: 1 month (on May 5th!)

Stats: 9lbs. 20.5 inches. Jussttt getting a little big for newborn clothes but not quite fitting into 0-3 months yet.

Nicknames: Mushy Mama, Baby Sister

Milestones: getting back to birth weight by her first appointment and 2 great doctors visits!

Favorite Things: MILK, Butt pats, being held.

Least Favorite Things: baths, anything cold, being hungry.

Audrey had a rough couple of weeks with lots of gas issues and spitting up SO much. I think we figured out that the flow on her bottles was too high so she was guzzling and getting lots of air with it. Today has been MUCH better so we’re hoping she’ll have an easier time here on out. There is just nothing worse than not knowing how to make your baby feel better.

She was six weeks this weekend (second baby problems as I post her 1 month update 2 weeks late) and we’re hoping this is the end of the newborn fog. Maybe? Lie to me. It’s fine. I’m fine.

Let’s see if I can manage a General life update this week- shall we? Stay tuned. LOL

xx, Em
