Harper Q.

For the first 12 months of Harper’s life we took monthly photos. I wrote a quick caption in my phone about what she had been up to, what she loved and hated, and how much change we’d seen in her. Once that 12 months was over I stopped cold turkey. I’m a little sad to look back at the last year and a few months and realize I hadn’t taken as many photos of her during these toddler days. She’s now 2 years (+4 months) and the changes I’ve seen in her since her 2nd birthday are completely mind blowing.

In an effort to make this blog a bit of a time-capsule for our family I thought the occasional check-in would be cute. So here she is.

Harper Quinn >> 2 years (+4 months)

She loves snacks, being outside, calling me Mom (insert eye roll because she sounds so grown up when she says it), and electronics. Do NOT let this kid get ahold of your phone, computer, or iPad. You won’t get it back without a total meltdown.

She twirls like a ballerina, says “Oh my GOODNESS,’ and requests to wear dresses just about every day. She loves the color pink, bananas, and cuddling on the couch. She is a Daddy’s girl through and through but will cry for her Mummy if she’s upset.

She will not agree to eat a meal unless you call it Breakfast-snack, Lunch-snack or Dinner-snack and has some mean swag in her walk. She will not drink anything green but will happily eat broccoli, spinach muffins, or hummus.

She sleeps 7:30a-7 with the occasional wake in the night, usually because of teething (screw you molars). If you ask her what she wants to do at any given time of the day you’re most likely to get walk, snack, or Little Baby Bums as a response. (Do your kids watch that show? It’s fine the first 45 times but really lost me after seeing it for the 46th-8492nd time).

She has the biggest heart for animals, love her WEELS (Oils), and would watch HICUS PICUS (Hocus Pocus) all year round if I let her. She recites the alphabet, skipping N and saying Cute instead of Q and I will never correct her. She throws the biggest fits when she’s told no but says “please and thank you” like its her job.

We love every wild moment with her and can not wait to see what her future holds. I REALLY can’t wait until she’s a bit older and we can have real conversation.

Thanks so much for reading! xx
