We had the most uneventful Independence Day and I’m really not mad about it. No hustle + bustle. No shore traffic. Just time spent together, grilling, sparklers (for 2 out of 3 of us) and lots of chips + dip.
Joe is still nursing a bad back in hopes that he can go back to work on Monday. So that meant we played it low-key around here. I snagged about three whole photos from the whole sha-bang and I can’t even say I’m mad about that.
I did, however, make the best Jalapeño Margarita so I thought I’d share the recipe!
In your favorite Margarita glass:
A few slices of fresh Jalapeño.
1 1/4 ounce of Tequila (I really love Espolon Blanco right now!)
3/4 ounce Triple Sec or Cointreau *optional- I skipped it this time.
Squeeze of Agave Syrup
Splash OJ (this is key!)
Heavy pour of Sour Mix.
Squeeze of fresh lime juice or 1 drop of Lime Essential oil.
The glass should be about 1/2 full.
Add ice to fill glass and pour into your cocktail shaker. Give it a goooooood shake!
Garnish with a fresh lime slice and ENJOY!
Cheers to a festive weekend!
